We know how important it is to integrate stretching into our workout programs and even just into our daily routines, but did you know it’s just as important to stretch your feet?

If you dedicate a little time each day to stretching your feet, the health benefits are endless!

Stretching and maintaining flexible muscles can reduce the chance of sustaining injuries during exercise and activities and even relieve foot aches and pains after a workout.

A good stretch will also promote circulation by increasing the blood supply to your muscles and joints and help to reduce muscular tension.

As if that’s not enough motivation, foot stretches are easy, quick and can be done almost anywhere. Try these stretches to keep your feet flexible and healthy!

Sit in a comfortable position with your feet flat on the floor and spread your toes apart. Hold this position for five seconds, then release. Repeat.
Sit on the floor with your legs together and straight out in front of you. Place a towel behind your toes and slowly pull the towel (and your toes) towards you. Hold for 10 seconds before releasing.
Grab a tennis or golf ball and get rolling! Simply place the ball under your foot and roll it from your toes all the way to your heels and repeat.
